The MSU College of Communication Arts and Sciences hosted a Green tailgate at the CAS building. This video shows how the tailgate was successfully sustainable by managing waste, serving food produced locally, and other methods. MSU Tailgate Research

Cara Jasiolek reports for HomeTV on the wasteful nature of MSU tailgating. The video shows MSU's "culture of acceptance" for littering at football games. Featured is a scientific study performed by MSU students who researched automobile emissions, urinal and bathroom use, trash disposal, and grilling practices. Examples from other Big Ten schools that have been successful at making tailgating sustainable are included and Jasiolek speaks with MSU employees about how to go about making MSU football games and tailgates sustainable events.
